Antique Copper Medical Instrument Sterilizer Castle by Edward Merkel, Philly

For auction is an antique copper medical instrument sterilizer manufactured by Edward Merkel of Philadelphia. It is also stamped “Castle” on the lid. The piece is complete with the lid and the removable instrument tray. The lid clamps on and the legs fold up and down. The bottom of the sterilizer shows signs of being heated over a fire. It measures 15 7/8″ by 6″ by 3″ high with the legs folded up. It is in excellent condition with no dents or dings.
