The Superior Viking/Medieval Steel Plate Buckle
This sturdy Historical Steel Plate Buckle is the very same premium historical hardware that we’ve used to make belts and accessories for hundreds of SCA and Ren-Faire participants over several decades. It is crafted of sturdy steel and has been given a blackened finish. It is astonishingly strong and will likely outlast whatever it is being used to close. We use it for making our load bearing shield carriage.

1/4″ wide for the buckle
It is best used with 3/4″ width leather.
The plate can either be used on a single surface of the leather or it can be spread (recommended so that it clasps both sides). A solid rivet is the best way to fasten this to a strap or belt. You may also use a standard tubular leather rivet. This is an excellent quality closure; we are confident that it will exceed your expectations.
Buckle:
This is a robust historical black finish steel buckle with a pivoting plate for no bind mounting. Pin is matching.

Made to handle 3/4″-7/8″ wide leather.

Handling time:
We generally ship in just a few days, but we also attend a large event called The Pennsic War that takes us away from the workshop for several weeks every July/August. We continue to accept orders while we are gone and will send orders out within a few days of returning home. Watch for the away message and note the handling time. Please let us know if you are in urgent need by a specific date and we’ll do our very best to accommodate your schedule.
